MINISTRIES
□ Sunday Services - Our Sunday
services are times of worship and instruction from the word of God. The preaching
takes the form of an expository ministry and our music is a mix of
traditional and contemporary. On the second Sunday of each month at the
morning services we observe communion.
□ Mid Week Services - This is held
on Wednesday evening at 7:30PM and takes the form of Bible Study and small
group prayer times.
□ Nursery - The Nursery
accommodates infants to 2 year olds. There is Nursery care for Sunday (a.m.
& p.m.) and Wednesday services, and at other special times such as
congregational meetings, etc. The nursery has a toddler room, an infant room
and its own bathroom. There are two or more nursery volunteers at all times.
□ Junior Church - Jr. Church is provided for
children age 2½ years to 1st grade, for parents who wish their
children to participate. Jr. Church meets during the sermon part of the
10:30a.m. Sunday Morning Worship Service. The children leave the sanctuary
immediately following the Children's message and parents pick them up
directly after the service is over. Jr. Church is a ministry not only to the
younger children, but also to the parents of those children, allowing the
parents to better focus on the Pastor's message. During Jr. Church, the
children have a Bible lesson, a snack, and an activity/craft time. Various
couples within the church body take turns teaching.
□ Sunday School - The Sunday
school hour starts at 9:30a.m. There are Sunday school classes for all ages:

There
are many annual events that happen within the Sunday school program. These
events are Children's Easter Celebration, Vacation Bible

Picnic (all-church), Campfire (all-church), and Children's Christmas Program.
□ Kid’s Bible Club - The Kid’s
Bible Club is a ministry that teaches and illustrates God's principles of
living to children 3 years old to 6th grade. The Kid’s Bible Club meets every
Wednesday night at 7: 15PM. The meetings include songs, a lesson, which is
always Bible-based and applicable for the children, games that teach Biblical
truth, and small groups. The leader of each small group takes prayer
requests, reviews the lesson, as well as each child's Quiet Time (the Quiet
Time book is an age appropriate manual for the purpose of encouraging them to
have a daily personal time of Bible reading, study, and application). This
program includes group Christian service activities and fellowship
activities. The Kid’s Bible is a wonderful opportunity for children to
experience solid Bible teaching and accountability, and to participate in
activities which will serve to build a Christian foundation.
□ Youth Group -
The
Youth Group, ministry is for both Junior and Senior High teens (7 - 12th
grades). Youth Group is set up to be an environment in which the teenagers
feel acceptance and love, and is lead by the youth pastor and a team of adult
leaders. Our goal is to produce spiritually mature young men and women and we
strive to reach that goal by teaching doctrinal truths, everyday principles
of Christian living, and how faith relates to major issues important to
teens. Some of the doctrinal issues we discuss are: who is God? (Attributes,
the person of Christ, the Holy Spirit); who is man? What is the world and how
the believer should relate to It. Some of the important issues and principles
of Christian living taught are: witnessing, living a Spirit: filled life,
accountability, quiet time, Bible study techniques, seeking after God's will,
building Biblical relationships with peers and parents, sexual purity, and
media discernment, to name a few. The basic structure of the Youth Group
program is a weekly lesson which takes place on Sunday Morning during the
Sunday school hour, with separate I classes for Junior and Senior High. We
then have Youth Meetings on Sunday nights (7:00p.m - 8:30p.m.) focusing on
Praise, Worship and Small, Groups. These small groups review and discuss the
Sunday school lesson. There are also monthly Christian Service and fellowship
activities.
□ Missions - Mark 16:15 - And He
said unto them, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to
every creature". The Church of the Living Christ of Loysville

them in the work of the gospel. The missionaries we support are:

The
finances for support come 100% from the gifts and offerings of the congregation.
Ten percent of the four Sunday offerings go into the mission fund and the
entire offering goes into the missions fund on the fifth Sunday.
The
Mission Committee consists of dedicated believing attendees of the church.
Each member is accountable for the needs of two missionaries and is also a
prayer partner with them They report to the committee, read their missionary
prayer letters, and pray for them The committee is accountable to the
congregation and the church council, keeping them informed of mission
ministries and activities. The mission committee meets at the church on the
first Wednesday of each month at 8:30PM.
□ Small Groups - The Small
Group Ministry began in 1994 and has continued to provide an avenue for church
members to grow spiritually, and re1ationally. Small Groups play a vital role
in fulfilling the purpose of the Church of the Living Christ, which is to be
a disciple-making church. Small groups provide a means for members to care
for one another as well as a place for deep and lasting relationships to be
created and nourished. Small groups also provided: a means to assimilate new
members into the body; an avenue for those with leadership potential to be
mentored and grown; a safe place for believers to exercise their spiritual
gifts and develop their spiritual disciplines; a great support system; a
non-threatening environment to invite non-members and non-Christians to
expose them to the Church and the Gospel of Jesus Christ; and a quick
response network to needs in the church. As members grow in grace and
knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, they should reach out to others, bringing
them into the church and teaching them the necessity of commitment to Christ
and the local body.
□ Men's Fellowship - The Men's
Fellowship is an informal gathering of men coming together to encourage and
sup- port each other in their walk with the Lord. The group meets on the first Saturday morning of each month.
Generally, the group comes together over breakfast at a local restaurant for
a time of fellow- ship, a time in the Scriptures and a time of prayer.
However, several times throughout the year special activities are planned.
□ Library - The Church of the Living
Christ Library Committee strives on a regular basis to bring in Christian
resources for all ages. From Theological research books to fiction (for both
adult and children) to videos the Library Committee is always on the lookout
for the best in Christian resources. Click here to see the newest arrivals.
