Article VII

Family & Membership

Any person, having attended the Church of the Living Christ Membership Class and being at least 16 years old, who wishes to join the church family shall make their interest known to an elder or pastor. An elder or pastor will meet with this person to discuss the following basic questions:

  1. Have you trusted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and what were the circumstances of your salvation experience?
  2. Have you experienced believers' baptism by immersion?
  3. Have you read the Constitution and Bylaws and are you in by general agreement with and willing to abide by the Constitution and Bylaws including the Purpose, Articles of Faith, Government, Covenant and other articles?
  4. Do you have any reservations regarding the Constitution and Bylaws and if so, please explain?

Those who give affirmation to a genuine salvation experience, have experienced believers baptism by immersion and are in general agreement with and are willing to abide by the Constitution and Bylaws, will be invited by the elders to affirm their desire to join the church family before the congregation during a regular Sunday morning worship service. Those having joined the church family will be able to vote in church business meetings.
